Dare to Dream

My latest article in the Dream edition of the Ayrshire Magazine, the print is a bit small, so here's what I said:

Dreams can come true, but in the words of Michelangelo:

“The greatest danger for most of us is not that our aim is too high and we miss it, but that it is too low and we reach it”.

So why do we not aim higher, well often there can be a lack of alignment in what we are dreaming of. I am sure everyone knows at least one person who life falls into place for. They are usually in the right place at the right time and everything they could wish for seems to fall into their lap. But is this really as a result of luck or is it that their energy is aligned? In other words, when we say we want something to happen and truly believe it will, then we are aligned and the law of attraction theory suggests that we will attract that outcome at some point in our future.

The difficulty lies in truly believing. For example, we might dream of getting a promotion at work but deep down believe we are less qualified or experienced than one of our colleagues, our beliefs will sabotage our efforts. (This type of sabotage, if successful, will confirm our initial thoughts and result in a self-fulfilling prophecy).

Even when we think we are in alignment our subconscious can still be holding us back. I have seen this frequently over the years as a Feng Shui Consultant, (Feng Shui is the analysis and influence of the interaction between people, buildings and the environment to enhance quality of life.)

A male client was ready for a relationship and looking to attract a partner, so he hung a picture of ‘two faces with their eyes locked’ in his relationship area. He was really pleased with the image and sent me a photo, however the image to me looked more like two women sharing a joke than a man and a woman about to kiss. Once I pointed it out he saw it too. This is a classic example of his conscious mind deciding he wanted a relationship (so he chose a picture) but his subconscious mind choosing an unsuitable image because he really wasn’t ready to get hurt again. He wasn’t in alignment.

Similarly, a female client had an ornament of two people on a swing to represent her future relationship – however, when I looked closer at the ornament there was a crack down the middle between the two people. It had been damaged and glued, since the crack was only visible from the back she kept it, but the symbolism of a happy relationship was clearly fractured.

If you feel your dreams are just out of reach then please get in touch and see what we can achieve together. Following consultations clients tell me they have gone on to realise their ambitions, which have included: career goals, finding a life partner and even moving abroad.
